The square braid wick - bleached cotton wick is an excellent choice for molded paraffin candles, tapers and waxes that are highly viscous, like beeswax and vegetable wax. Square braided wick was originally designed for beeswax candles so works wonderfully with tapers or molded type candles, expect a slight curling or "bending" of the wick as it burns.
The flat braid wick - unbleached cotton wick has a decorative appearance and is commonly used in dipped or molded candles, such as tapers or pillars. Recommended for paraffin based waxes. Flat braided wick will curl slightly when it is burning which helps reduce carbon buildup and will help make the wick self-trimming.
The candles indicated for each size braided wick are merely guidelines. The ROC (rate of consumption) is the amount of wax consumed in ounces per hour in a standardized test. The rate may vary with different waxes. Test burning is always recommended to determine the proper wick for your wax formula. Be sure to match the appropriate size wick with the appropriate sized candle to get the maximum benefits of the wick.Click to See our Wicking Size Guide
